Today I give myself to you in marriage. You cannot possess me, for I belong to myself. But while we both wish it, I give you that which is mine to give.”
When Elizabeth and Colin imagined their dream Irish Elopement they could hardly have pictured a more dramatic scene than Elizabeth’s own dad playing the Bagpipes at the edge of the Cliffs of Moher, the sound of them reverberating all around them, through them. The cliff’s edge itself drawing a line; the end of an old life, and the start of a new one. Elizabeth & Colin eloped to Ireland and were married in an intimate Celtic ceremony. Their hands were bound in the ancient Irish tradition of handfasting. Blessed by rare blue Irish skies, agus ní raibh aon scammall sa speair.
After the ceremony the couple continued on to celebrate their love with close family and friends in the traditional setting of Vaughan’s Pub in Kilfenora where no doubt, the guinness flowed long into the night.
